Westport 2025! August 2 - August 9
Each summer our student leaders spend a week in Westport, WA where we host a VBS for local kids. In addition to the day-to-day service to the Westport community, those who sign up also spend much of the week focused on preparing for the upcoming school year to make Praxis the best it can be for their peers.

FAQs
When is the trip?
We leave Spokane early on the morning of August 2nd. We arrive back in Spokane on Saturday, August 9.
What does pre-trip prep entail?
We ask every student to attend our prep meetings and decoration shift which will be held:
Tuesday, June 17. 6:30-8:30pm
Wednesday, July 9. 6:30-8:30pm
Sunday July 27. 10:00am-2:30pm (or whenever we’re done)
Thursday, July 31. Packing Day, 2-4pm (or whenever we’re done)
How much does the trip cost?
The fee for each student is $450. That covers meals, transportation, lodging, any VBS supplies, etc.
As always, we don’t want money to be the reason someone cannot join. If you’d like to request financial aid please let Lydia know!
Can my kid miss a prep meeting? We have vacation, etc…
We’d love them to commit to being at all 4 meetings, but if that is impossible we’d still love for them to apply! We trust we can make it work.
My kid(s) weren’t involved much in Praxis this year - can they still be part of Westport?
Absolutely! As long as they are willing to commit to moving forward in their faith and making Praxis the best community it can be for their peers, we’d love to have them!
Can graduating seniors join?
Yes! Absolutely. Graduating seniors will be able to attend if there is enough room; please fill out an application and hold off on paying!
Is there a pre-trip service component this year?
Yes! We ask that each kid choose to serve in at least one of the following areas this summer:
Five days of FPC VBS “Camp Wonder” for PreK-2nd grade, June 23-27th, 8:30am-12pm. Mandatory VBS training at FPC info to follow! This will shape our VBS in Westport and is SUPER VALUABLE experience!
Four days of Summer Sunday School, 9:30-11:15, four of these dates: June 15, 22, 29, July 6, 13, and 20. *Only Sign Up for this after talking to Lydia and if you CANNOT make VBS work!
How does the group travel?
We use the church van and some leader vehicles!
Where does the team stay?
For nearly 40 years we’ve been partnering with, and staying at, South Beach Presbyterian Church.
