This is a class for folks who want to join, or explore joining, First Presbyterian Church.

Our Fall 2025 Session is 3 Sunday Meetings after worship (11:00-12:15) on Sundays, October 26 and November 2 & 9. We’ll get to know one another and work our way through the topics listed below (not necessarily in order).  There will be an opportunity at the conclusion of this 3-week series to officially become a member or deepen your involvement in other ways. If you choose to join, you will do so in worship on Sunday, November 16.

Information: Who, How, & Why
This gathering will include introductions; highlighting of our vision, mission & values; talking about what we do together on Sundays; and an overview of our ministries and missions. In preparation, please read about our 5 vision statements and watch the video story for each: Mission and Values.

Doctrine: What we Believe
Rather than a lecture about theology, we intend this gathering to be an interactive conversation.  We’ll address typical questions that newcomers have.

Expectations: Meaning & Value of Belonging
We’ll dig into what it means to belong.  We’ll hear from some of our elders and staff on this topic.  Finally, we’ll consider some of what we do together and explore ways you might serve or connect in fellowship as part of our church family.

Additionally, one of our elders will meet with you.
This is an informal meeting with a chance for you get to know and be known by one of our elders. They will be open to answering questions you might have about the church. You can choose to meet in-person or through a phone call.

After these 3 Sunday gatherings, if you choose to become a member we will ask you to join in a communal (re)affirmation of faith in worship on the Sunday indicated above.  During this worship service you’ll be welcomed by the congregation. If you have not been baptized, you would also be baptized in worship on that Sunday.
