Welcome to our Shift Middle School Community! Shift is a ministry specifically designed for 7th and 8th graders. It is a place where we come to laugh, play, make new friends, worship and learn about God’s amazing love for us and the world. We do this on Tuesday nights as well as annual events and retreats. Our dream is for every middle schooler to recognize their potential and use their unique gifts and talents to further the Kingdom of God in their communities. Take a look below for the current series and upcoming events.
Shift meets every Tuesday night of the school calendar year from 6:30-8:30pm. We start in the Lobby/Gym for some mingle time and a super fun game and head downstairs to our youth room for worship, a message and small group time. Every student who comes on Tuesdays is placed in a small group with one or two adult leaders where they have a chance to respond to what we’ve been learning through activities and discussions. The majority of our community is built through our Tuesday night gatherings and small group time, so you won’t want to miss it!
It’s easy to read different stories in the Bible about God using people to do amazing things and think, “wow they must have been extraordinary.” The truth is, God chooses ordinary people to do EXTRAordinary things. All He needs is someone with a willing heart and a desire to follow Him into adventures. That means even YOU, Jr. Higher, are EXTRAordinary. Join us in this series leading up to 30hr Famine as we are inspired to partner with God in the extraordinary works he is doing through His people in the world.
We are in the middle of planning for our annual middle school mission trip. In July, a group of a dozen students and a half dozen leaders will drive down to California and serve throughout the Bay Area. This will be a week full of service, learning, and fun, all focused on making this world a better place and growing stronger in our relationship with each other and the Lord.
