Current Opportunities to Serve

Please find below a list of featured opportunities to serve within FPC or our community. See the" In Our Church" and "In Our Community" pages for many more ways to serve locally.

MI-rebuild13.jpgRebuild Together Spokane – Saturday, April 27
The date for the one day Rebuild Together-Spokane is Saturday, April 27, beginning at 8am when we will meet at the church.  There will be a number of tasks, some of which require some skill (like carpentry work) and much that does not (gardening, painting).  We could also use some individuals with plumbing skills for this year's house.  We will have most of the tools needed on site, but bring worn clothing and sturdy gloves and a joyful spirit!
We are fortunate this year to have drawn a house from one of our own…Alock Nyigow,  who lives on the near Northside.  It will be very rewarding to put our collective efforts towards revitalizing her home in this one day event.  Please contact either Curt Shoemaker (448-6063) or Larry Yates (535-6904) or sign up at the church during March.

MI-bloomsday13.pngBloomsday Water Aid Station – Sunday, May 5
FPC will again be sponsoring the finish line water aid station for Bloomsday 2013. We will need 100-150 volunteers to par¬ticipate in providing water to runners. This is a great opportunity for small groups, individuals and your friends who may not attend FPC to serve our community.  Members of our praise band known as “Last Chance for Gas” will be performing at the water station for your listening enjoy-ment.  Please join us for a fun and rewarding experience! Contact Autumn Ellwein for more info/signup at 590-0676 or alellwein@firstcommand.com.

Meals on Wheels - Drivers

Every five weeks FPC provides volunteers to deliver meals on 5 routes, Monday through Friday, for Meals on Wheels.  Each volunteer, alone or with a partner, delivers the prepared meals to approximately 10 listed residences which takes approximately 1 1/2 hours.  We could use regular and substitute drivers.
