Psalm 24:1-2. The earth is the Lord's and all that is in it, the world, and those who live in it: for he has founded it on the seas, and established it on the rivers.
As faithful children of God we are called to a ministry of love and service to all who call this earth home. We are to care for all living things that God has created, and feel pain when any living thing is in danger of being, or deemed as, extinct. We take this call seriously and seek ways for all to work to maintain Earth's beauty, order, and integrity.
Many in the world are already suffering the effects of climate change. We acknowledge our possible contribution to this and seek in all ways to be good stewards of God's creation.
Working for Social Justice and Environmental Quality are ways of engaging with God in keeping and healing creation. This means caring for the well-being of all humankind on a thriving earth. This is our task.
Creation Care meetings are on the second Thursday of the month at 6:30pm following the Thursday Night Live dinner. Our next scheduled meeting is Sept. 10, 2009.
