The purpose of this half-time position is to provide overall leadership and support for all Congregational Care Ministries and to be the primary visitation representative of FPC. This person will report directly to the Senior Pastor.

General Responsibilities: The director of Congregational Care will lead and support the ministry of congregational care by:
- Articulating, promoting and supporting the church’s vision for congregational care.
- Assuming primary visitation pastoral care responsibilities.
- Providing leadership and continued support for the variety of lay-led congregational care ministries operating at FPC, such as the Deacons, Stephen Ministry, Divorce Recovery, Bereavement, and prayer groups.
- Providing leadership for Congregational Care special events such as the Solstice Service, and Diamond Jubilee Luncheon.
Specific Responsibilities include: To plan, support, administer and evaluate the following:
- Overseeing and administrating the Congregational Care budget.
- Providing/overseeing initial visitations for congregants needing care. Appropriately delegating and communicating follow-up information on these visits to pastors/staff/Deacons and Congregational Care leaders.
- Working with Deacon Moderator to plan, pray, implement and evaluate monthly Deacon meetings.
- Meeting with Deacon Board monthly for planning, training, encouragement, evaluation, community building and prayer.
- Assuring Care Tracker is updated weekly by all providing pastoral care (Deacons and Pastors)
- Leading monthly meetings with the CC Leadership Teams in order to plan, evaluate the current programs, provide clear communication between programs, and spend time together in prayer.
- Assuring Prayer Cards from Worship Service are recorded and included along with other weekly prayer updates, to pass on to pastors, Deacons and prayer teams.
- Celebrating, nurturing and finding ways to appreciate and encourage CC Leaders and teams.
- Meeting weekly with pastors to inform, evaluate, pray, plan and provide follow-up with individuals where needed.
- Communicating monthly to the Session and on an ongoing basis to the congregation the value and the function of Congregational Care ministries in order to continue to provide good care and to encourage lay ministry involvement.
- Attending staff meetings as appropriate.
